Research is going to be interdisciplinary!!
It was a thoughtful and wonderful judging experience for graduate interdisciplinary research organized by Office of Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (OIGP) (Spring Reception_2019), Purdue University.
For example, it was nice to hear from a Material Science engineer about how he investigated bacterial HMG-CoA reductase by time-resolved crystallography and its potential use in intervening pathogenic and antibiotic resistant bacteria. I was surprised to see shifting of research paradigm to be interdisciplinary for disease control and better health.
